Attended Carleton University in Ottawa for two years to study political science. In addition, she volunteered with the Canadian Nation Institute for the Blind and tutored high school teenage mothers at Youville Center. She was accepted to Queen’s Law School in Kingston, Ontario in 1989 and graduated in May 1992.
After being called to the bar, she joined Murchison, Thomson and Clarke in Surrey and practiced there until the spring of 1997. Lynett prosecuted drug, tax and fisheries cases on behalf of the Attorney General of Canada. In 1997, she joined the Crown Counsel’s office in the Fraser Region and prosecuted criminal cases for shoplifting to murder. She is one of the lawyers at the Surrey Crown Counsel’s office.
